Entre-deux-Mers is a large subregion and appellation of the Bordeaux wine region of South West France. "Entre-deux-Mers" translates literally as "between two seas", although the seas in question are in fact rivers – the Garonne and Dordogne, which respectively form the area's southwestern and northern boundaries.
The actual appellation title is for white wines only, made from Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscadelle and Ugni Blanc. It is important to distinguish between the geographical area referred to as "Entre-deux-Mers" (which is indeed the land between the Garonne and Dordogne) and the wine appellation. The reported AOP vineyard area covering said white varieties is 1441 hectares. Bordeaux white wines have been making a comeback in recent years, due to modernized winemaking and the demand for crisp, dry whites.
Château des Trois Tours, located near Sauveterre-de-Guyenne in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, has belonged to the Lumeau family, winegrowers for eight generations. 24-hour skin-contact maceration, followed by pressing and vinification in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 3 months. The 2024 is a blend of equal parts Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon - the nose is bright & fresh, dominated by the character of the Sauvignon. The notes of white nectarine, passionfruit & citrus blend harmoniously with the floral notes. The palate is round and unctuous - accompanied by notes of lemon-lime & grapefruit, a lovely freshness balances the palate & leads to a long & mouthwatering finish.
