Le Grand Bouqueteau Chinon Rose

Overview

Le Grand Bouqueteau is attached to the Château du Coudray Montpensier whose vineyard has been mostly planted by the Feray family in 1999. 3 Hectares of old vines already existed at this time. The cellar has been built next to it in a lieu-dit named "Le Grand Bouqueteau". The term lieu-dit is French for a "named place" or vineyard.

A direct press rose wine. Grapes are pressed slowly, which is enough to achieve the clear pale rosé that we are looking for. The fermentation looks like a white wine fermentation at low temperature. Afterwards the wine is racked twice with suitable aging, before bottling.

Rosé made from 100% Cabernet Franc. Bright, onion-skin color. Fresh and incisive on the nose, displaying red berry, citrus fruit and floral qualities and subtle mineral and spice flourishes. Juicy and sharply focused, putting forward lithe strawberry, blood orange and honeysuckle flavors that deepen through the back half. Finishes long and silky, with the red fruit and floral notes lingering.
