We first offered O’Lillo Rosso in our February Good Dog selections. Since then, our wine club members have made O’Lillo one of the most popular Italian reds we’ve offered. So much so that we have been sold out for months. Well, it’s back & even better with the 2024 vintage.
This is made by one of Tuscany’s most decorated winemakers, Stefano Chioccioli, whose bottles have impressed wine critics to the tune of 100-point scores and earned more than seventy Tre Bicchieri awards—an honor many vintners would be thrilled to receive just once.
From the diverse sites on the Baracchi Estate, Chioccioli drew equal parts Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon for this O’Lillo, and the result is a bottle with generous fruit and deep spice. Aging in steel vats preserved the wine’s black-fruit purity. This Toscana Rosso shows depth and elegance in the glass, with a ruby core.
Aromas of fleshy red & black fruit are followed by complex notes of tobacco, cedar, & truffle. The palate offers a bounty of muddled blackberry & plum, with tight-knit tannins that carry spice and a long finish. A juicy, elegant, delicious Super Tuscan steal. The 2024 is stunning, one of the best Super Tuscan deals you’ll find. Drink now–2032
