Robert de Pampignac is crafted at La Maison du Champagne in Epernay – a co-op dedicated to smaller brands without vineyards of their own. This practice was widely common in Champagne in the early days of Champagne – predating the “Grower Champagne” movement that we see today.
Robert de Pampignac is more than just a smartly priced Champagne, it's a super-yummy smartly priced Champagne! This latest batch pours a shimmering pale pink color with a steady, vibrant stream of fine bubbles. On the nose and in the mouth, it overdelivers with a collection of light red fruits, clay, chalky earth, violet florals and subtle spice. Long, pleasure-giving, and somehow even more structured than previous years, the value proposition is seriously impressive.
A Pinot Noir and Meunier dominant cuvee with a pale-yellow color. An aromatic nose of lemon and citrus fruit. Beautiful vivacity on the palate, a finish on chalk, and a nice
balance. With yellow apple, lemon peel, yellow plum puree, strawberry shortcake,
freeze-dried pear, baked bread, cherry essence and chalk - this wine finishes nicely clean.
46% Pinot Noir, 37% Pinot Meunier, 17% Chardonnay. Dosage 8g/l.
