The Vincens story began in 1919 with the purchase of the first plot of vines by Prosper Vincens on his return from the First World War.
In 1982, Michel and Danièle Vincens decided to leave the Cooperative Winery to which they had been supplying grapes for years to embark, alone, on the great adventure of making their own wine. September 1983, for the first time, they harvested grapes that they will vinify. This is the birth of Domaine des Vincens. A few years later, it will become Château Vincens.
For three generations, plot after plot, year after year, each generation has contributed to the expansion of the vineyard. Today, Isabelle and Philippe Vincens work with their father Michel, combining technological performance, respect for the terroir, and the elegance of the finest Cahors Malbecs. Today, the Château Vincens estate extends over 43 hectares of vines planted on the predominantly limestone plateau overlooking the Lot valley.
This blend of 80% Malbec & 20% Merlot is deeply saturated & has high-toned aromas and flavors of blackberry, blueberry, purple flowers and wild herbs, with a lovely hint of graphite. A beautifully balanced Southern French red with real purity to its dark berry core, a medium-to-full body & a silky smooth finish.
