Alceo is produced from Tempranillo grapes that have been grown on the Familia Bastida estate vineyards. The soil consists of a mixture of clay and sand with a high concentration of limestone and many small stones. The stones help to retain the moisture in the soil during the long dry summer season. The wine was fermented in stainless-steel tank and aged up to five months in American oak casks prior to bottling.
Classic warm climate Tempranillo, the nose is intense and shows blueberry, raspberry, plum & a bit of tertiary notes like leather, wild herbs and tobacco. The palate is chewy & spicy with tons of elegant red & black fruit, a kiss of smoke & silky smooth tannins.
