Wahluke Slope is one of the great areas of Washington State - at elevation, on a bed of broken basalt, gravel and caliche under topsoil and sand. Syrah performs especially well here.
From terrific material, 2016 was very kind to the Sundance Vineyard and The Deal was vinified with 100% whole-cluster Syrah (with native yeast) and only partial new oak. The Deal is always the best “deal” in the K Vintners’ portfolio & year in, year out grabs high scores – especially loved by my favorite reviewer of Rhone wines, Jeb Dunnuck.
