Overview

Damien Laurent grew up among vineyards and used to help his grandfather to fill up wine barrels. After managing Chateau L'Escart in Bordeaux for 12 years, together with his Chilean wife Lorena, he looked for a ‘terroir’ where they could bring their passion to life by making their own wines. Attracted by the beautiful landscape of the Maipo Valley, they discovered its incredible potential, planting their first vineyard in 2008.

Produced from 150 years-old ungrafted vines in Chile's Southern Itata Valley, the original heartland of Chilean wine production from the 16th century. Supple and fresh. Bursting with red cherries, laced with fresh thyme and spiked with licorice. Once seen as a humble grape, País steps into the limelight when grown on long- forgotten, gnarly old vines. Fruit for this delicious red comes from 150-year-old ungrafted vines, and it’s made by former Bordeaux winemaker Damien Laurent and his Chilean wife Lorena. The vibrant, floral, cherry and summer-pudding palate is backed by crunchy acidity and chalky tannins.
