Overview

Uvica Cotes du Rhone Rouge: Bottle Bracket Final Four

Vignerons Ardechois is a collective of wine producers and farmers located in the southern Ardeche with the aim of creating a supportive and sustainable environment, not only for the land of the Ardeche but for the farmers as well.  The vineyard is located on the terraces overlooking the village of Bourg Saint Andeol and the Rhone Valley. The vines are over 20 years old, delivering low yields and flourishing on limestone-based land, rich in round pebbles.

From a hidden corner of the Rhône Valley, this is from 30+ year old vines, grown on terraced hills west of Montélimar, on stony and sedimentary soils. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in cement tanks before being aged in stainless steel. The color is a beautiful cherry tinged ruby which leads to a wafty, high-toned bouquet of crunchy red & blue fruits with a whif of white pepper. A juicy palate reveals dried strawberry, cherry, blueberry compote & leafy, peppered garrigue notes. It is medium bodied with soft tannins & a savory finish. 70% Grenache 30% Syrah.
