Situated in western Romania just to the east of the town of Timisoara, Cramele Recas is a very impressive new winery on an old site. In the last 10 years, both the vineyard and winery have been completely, and exhaustively, modernized in order to be able to fully control the production process using the latest methods. The winery has been fully fitted out with stainless steel, automatic temperature-controlled tanks for fermenting and storing the wine. 100 % estate-grown, handpicked fruit from the Dealul Tiganului vineyard. The grapes were destemmed and lightly crushed, before being chilled to 8 degrees C for 8 hours maceration.
Made from 55% Feteasca Neagra and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon; and opens with bright aromas of small red berries, stone fruit, citrus & herbs. The palate is clean & crisp with fresh strawberry, peach skin, apricot, summer melon & tangerine fruits. The finish is intensely bright & refreshing - juicy summer fruits & a splash of green herbs combine with a touch of sea salt & rocky minerals.
